Ensuring all School/Clinic outcomes are sent to RIVIAM

At the end of a clinic session, ensuring that all outcomes have been sent to RIVIAM is important.

On the Home Page, there are two counts of messages - incoming messages and outgoing messages. These numbers show a user what messages are incoming into the device and the number of messages waiting to be sent to RIVIAM.

If you have more than 0 in either column. This means there are messages to be processed.

At the end of each clinic, you must ensure there are 0 outgoing messages before you log off the device.

If there are still outgoing messages, you need to take action to resolve this, including:

  1. Ensure your device is connected to a 4/5G network, and there is no red bar saying unable to send/receive messages on your device. You may need to move the location to get a stronger signal.
  2. You can close the app and try to log in again, but you must ensure connectivity is re-established to ensure the outgoing messages get cleared.
  3. Please bear in mind that if your device does not have connectivity, it will not sync with other devices used by your colleagues at the same session.

Checking the outcomes have been sent to RIVIAM.

You or your admin support will have to log in to RIVIAM Web to check that outcomes from the clinic have been received and processed.

The first place to check if the messages have been received by RIVIAM is going to the school stats page.

For example, in the screenshot below, you can see that two children have been recorded as vaccinated or "given" by the system, but one child is still in the "not processed" vaccination status, so he has not been recorded as vaccinated.

If you think that you have vaccinated this child or the stats do not correlate with the number of vaccines given, make sure all outcomes have been saved correctly and complete immunisation has been selected and moved to the seen by me list. Then check that the outgoing messages on the device are 0.

Check the "Immunisations" tab.

Under the ‘Immunisations’ tab on RIVIAM, you will see the updated vaccination outcome under the timeline events and Immunisation table.

Check the referral details form.

Under the ‘Referral Details’ tab on RIVIAM, you can also see the outcome data submitted from the mobile app (if using a spreadsheet, this won't be visible in this section). This will appear under the outcome section of the form as shown below.

It is also possible to monitor the clinic outcomes in the Schedule Clinics section. Here is our guide to "Monitoring Mobile Clinic Outcomes".
